Thumb rules play a most Important role while taking quick decisions on site.

Thumb rule is an approximate & comparing method. In thumb rules, the units are not the same . when we compare to get the results. So never consider units while performing thumb rule.

Concrete : 0.04 cum per sq. ft. of plan area.

Steel : 3.50 to 4.00 Kg per sq. ft.

Shuttering : 2.40 to 2.50 times the plan area of slab (This include all structure

Formwork:

Shuttering = 6 times the quantity of concreting.(or2.4 times the plinth area)

1. Number of 12 mm Plywood (2.44m x1.22 m) = 0.22 times of shuttering

2.Batten ( running meter ) (75mm x 40mm) = 19.82 X number of Ply Sheet

3. Shuttering Oil = 0.065 x total area of shuttering in litre

4. Nails = 0.22 x total area of shuttering in kg

5.Binding wire = 75 gm per sqm

Brick Work : 0.016 cum per sq. ft. of plan area.

Anti terminate treatment Thumb rule

Anti terminate treatment chemical Name is chloropyrifoc 20% . Diluting 5 Litre of Chemical with 95 Litre of water and usage is 7.5 Sqm Per liter

Flooring Thumb rule

• Marble flooring = 0.3 bags/sqm

• Marble skirting = 0.025 bags/rmt

• Marble glading =0.27 bags/sqm

• Terraace flooring =0.3 bags/sqm

• Mangalore tile =0.35 bags/sqm

• Granolithic flooring =40 mm 0.3 bags/sqm

Water Proofing
